A small, round wooden sauna with a glass door, situated on a concrete patio beside a swimming pool, surrounded by a wooden privacy fence and greenery.

Barrel-Series

The round barrel design circulates heat evenly, so you feel consistent warmth from head to toe instead of hot and cold spots.

With less wasted air volume than a box sauna, the barrel heats faster and uses less energy to reach temperature.

The curved interior feels naturally cozy and social, perfect for relaxing with friends or family“

Why Choose a Barrel?

- A major complaint with cheap barrel saunas is that the benches are flat, uncomfortable, and you have to duck your head just to get inside. SaunaLife’s "Ergo" series features a massive interior height (ranging from 6'5" up to 7'7" depending on the model), allowing bathers to stand completely upright. Because of this larger diameter, the interior benches—made of silky-smooth, knot-free Thermo-Aspen—are actually contoured to follow the natural curve of the barrel, providing a slanted backrest with true lumbar support.

- Every SaunaLife barrel comes standard with a premium, dotless white LED lighting system. Instead of a harsh bulb, the lighting is installed seamlessly and is completely waterproof and heat-rated (IP67). Best of all, it is Wi-Fi enabled, meaning your customers can turn on the lights, dim them, or set the mood right from a smartphone app before they even step outside.

- Outdoor barrels take a beating from the weather, but SaunaLife engineers theirs specifically to handle it. They include:

  • A Watertight Shingle Kit: Essential for outdoor longevity, this roof kit includes drip edges to direct rainwater away from the wood.

  • Dual Floor Drains: One drain sits under the heater for the water tossed on the rocks, and a second sits near the door to drain off water from a pool or cold plunge.

About SaunaLife

SaunaLife was founded by a group of enthusiasts who are passionate about sauna and are committed to sharing their knowledge of its life-changing benefits, who dedicated themselves to growing awareness of sauna bathing in America.

SaunaLife DIY indoor and outdoor saunas are constructed with beautiful woods from Northern Europe and embody the Scandinavian passion for sauna heritage and craft. Our wooden materials are sustainably sourced, more durable, and lower in price. Our tireless efforts have significantly reduced construction time and costs, while improving quality.

Every SaunaLife sauna kit is sold as a complete outdoor cabin shell plus a full LED lighting package; the only major thing you add is the heater and stones.

Thermo-Spruce” means that the wood was naturally treated with pressurized heat and steam so it can last up to 2 times longer than Cedar wood! Every SaunaLife Sauna begins with industry-leading 1.65” thick full-length Thermo-Spruce staves for better durability and exceptional thermal resistance (R-value). This chemical-free, eco-friendly wood is dimensionally stable and ideal for outdoor saunas.

View from inside a room looking out through large glass sliding doors to an outdoor garden with a wooden bench, string lights, a tree with sprawling branches, and a house in the background.

Cube-Series

The Cube-Series uses a clean, minimalist Scandinavian cabin look with a full glass front wall that floods the interior with natural light and frames your outdoor view.

At night, integrated LED lighting makes the sauna glow like a design feature in your landscape rather than a plain shed.

The rectangular footprint tucks neatly onto decks, patios, or beside pools while still feeling like a high-end backyard room, not just equipment.

Why Choose a Cube?

- The number one reason customers choose a cube over a barrel is the usable space. Barrels curve inward, meaning you can only stand upright in the very dead center. The Cube series offers massive interior height—ranging from over 6'2" in the smaller models up to over 7 feet in the CL7G. Bathers can stand completely upright, move around easily, and sit on true, multi-tier benches without bumping their heads on the ceiling.

- Instead of a small window or a solid wooden door, the entire front wall of the Cube series is made of 8mm thick, tempered bronze-tinted glass. This creates a stunning open and airy feeling that completely eliminates the claustrophobia some people feel in traditional closed-off saunas. It allows bathers to enjoy unobstructed panoramic views of their backyard oasis.

- Like their best barrels, the Cubes use a dual-wood strategy for maximum performance:

  • The Exterior: Made from 1.7" thick Thermo-Spruce. Because it is thermally modified, it resists rot, decay, and pests, and is significantly more stable in harsh weather than standard cedar.

  • The Interior: The benches and arched backrests are made of knotless Thermo-Aspen. This wood has a satin-smooth, premium feel and naturally stays "cool to the touch" even when the sauna is blasting at 180°F+.
